about dogs

Are pests such as mosquitos and fleas really dangerous to my dog?

Parasiticide protection is more crucial than ever before. While ticks are known for carrying Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis or Rocky Mountain spotted fever, fleas can cause flea allergy dermatitis. Additionally, mosquitos may carry heartworm and West Nile virus. Repelling the bite of all these pests with monthly treatments of ParaDefense™ Advanced for Dogs is the best way to keep your dog safe, comfortable and healthy.

Can I give my dog a bath after I apply Para|Defense™ Advanced for Dogs?

Yes. ParaDefense Advanced for Dogs is waterproof, so it will remain just as effective after bathing or swimming.

If my dog has a serious flea infestation, can I use Para|Defense™ Advanced for Dogs more often than once a month?

ParaDefense Advanced for Dogs is designed to be effective for a full month under normal conditions. However, in extreme cases, another treatment may be necessary earlier than four weeks on the advice of your veterinarian.

Call your veterinarian if your dog is having unusual discomfort from the infestation. Never re-treat your dog more often than once every seven days. Once flea control is achieved, resume your normal monthly treatment schedule.

My dog is more of an inside dog. Do I really need a 5-way protection treatment every month?

Even if your dog only goes outside for an occasional walk, protecting your pet from diseases carried by fleas, ticks, mosquitos, biting flies and lice is a crucial part of dog care. Pests can come into contact with pets in many ways including contact with other animals or pests brought into the home on human clothing. Since many pests are present year-round, even in colder climates, it’s important to treat your dog with ParaDefense Advanced for Dogs every month.

I just adopted a new puppy. How soon should I start him on Para|Defense™ Advanced for Dogs for Dogs?

I don’t see any bites or bugs. Does that mean my dog doesn’t have any issues with pests?

Not all pest infestations are visible. Many dogs are less sensitive to bites when they occur. The three-step protection of ParaDefense Advanced for Dogs for Dogs monthly treatments is the best way to ensure your dog is safeguarded, by killing existing pests, halting the development of eggs and larvae in the home and repelling new fleas, ticks and mosquitos.

Can I apply Para|Defense™ Advanced for Dogs if my dog is on other medication?

If your pet is on medication, consult your veterinarian before using this or any other product.

Why does it seem like there are more fleas after the first treatment of Para|Defense™ Advanced for Dogs?

When used during an existing infestation, you may see an increased number of visible fleas and other pests after application. This is a sign that ParaDefense Advanced for Dogs is working. The pests you see are moving away from your dog’s skin as they are killed and repelled, which may create the false appearance of more bugs.
